When doing wheel alignment 3 degrees is an awful lot and can make a big difference.
Which setting was 3 degrees out?

i agree with raj and x5sport in that the wear pattern doesnt look anything out of the ordinary, just the tyres been on about 3k miles too long

Thanks Richard, not sure why then, but the pressures where a bit high, dropped them down now.

I didnt think to ask which 'bit' of the alignment was out, but from his hand movements when he was telling me I assumed it the tracking rather than camber??

Anyway good news, is the new rubber has transformed the drive of car, fingers crossed it was me being a numpty not checking tyres properly!

I had a similar though less extreme situation though I did the tyre change before failure, thankfully.  I had my alignment checked and although it was out it was nothing like 3 degrees - the worst was less than 2 I believe.
