Jammed catch? Summat inside stuck in the lock. It's a pain to remove as the fixing screws are inside.

This sounds daft, but is it jam packed with stuff? My glove box is a pain in the backside - sometimes if it's full, I have to push it in really hard before it will unlock/open.

Haven't fixed it yet, it could be the spring now you mention it! The handle does feel different!
