Battery discharging

Post by lentil » Fri Mar 27, 2015 10:55 am

For the second time now, my battery has completely discharged. What I find strange is the car can be left for a week quite regularly and then it starts up with no sign of weakness, yet the problem arises when i've driven to work, it is left all day, and when I return to the car it is completely dead.

Could this be the alternator?

I did notice that my DRL was switched on by accident, but I doubt this would cause an issue as I believe the car goes in to sleep mode after a short time of inactivity?

I have found various information on here regarding discharging batteries, and there are several causes, however based on the information i've provided I am hoping someone can shed some light on this.

Thanks in advance.

check the terminal for your jump start under the hood.  Positive terminal, ensure it is fully tight!!!
