What a nice sunny bank holiday.. under the car!
Thought nice day. Lets go and change the front suspension arms and bushes...
You instantly know when you have one of those lightbulb moments..
Pity i put 11kv through it and blew the hell out of the lamp!!
after taking most of the front of the car off to get one bolt out, then having to strip the hub down to get the ball joint out....
its taken over 4 hours to do one side!!!
Still got the bloody drivers side to do now!!!
Wish i drank then at least the pain could melt away!!! lol
Its jobs like this that make me wish i was taking the gearbox out again...
At least i know what thats like to do!!!!!

Just think, you could be stuck in bank holiday traffic instead of messing about with the car, lol.

Even worse....
You could have an alcoholic partner like the witch I'm with...
I may try and break some thing to fix under the car.. or maybe better still just lay under it all day and relax with a magazine to avoid the endless drunken drivvelings from the other half...
I should have married my car... as I could just sell it if it gets too much agro lol ha ha..
There are some countries still, where you can sell your wife... must go there me thinks

Hi Steamy..
Count me IN next holiday break....
If my car is fine, I'll gladly help work on yours to escape for the weekend..
My fee is simple - Food, a few Pepsi's and a bed/sofa for the night...
Deal ?

Exactly what I was doing last week! Thought my lower suspension arms needed changing turns out its the lower ball joints! Lower ball joint seized onto suspension arm & wouldnt even come off with the ball joint separator! I didn't have a new ball joint so had to put it all back together again! So that's my job for this weekend!

I had to attack the steering rod ends with a lot of heat, a few smacks with the hammer and plenty of penetrating oil to free them up.
The biggest pain was getting the ball joints out of the bottom of the hub assembly.
Had to remove the whole hub assy t do that in the vice.....
