Front bumper hanging off...
Gents,
Where are the fixings that hold the front bumper in place ?
The N/S corner where the bumper meets the wheel arch is miss-aligned & been getting worse for 6 months, and as the sun is shining I thought I'd get it nailed back in situ properly..
-------
I'm guessing the mounting fixings are behind the inner arch ?
or can it be done without taking half the car to bits ?
We have 2 days more sunshine before the heavens open again....

Re: Front bumper hanging off...
It's a plastic clip-in bracket with screws. You're clips may have broken off - get some super-strong adhesive (windscreen black seal stuff), some clamps and leave it to dry for some hours - otherwise a number of screws need to come off.
Scn Protect,Alarm Chirp,Ashtray del,Sub install,IV2,Screens,PS2 Media,Chrome rings,Schnitzer pedals,Reverse cam,Silver Grills,F/mirrors,Comp Spkrs,Heated S/W,20"168s,Splash scn,Arches,Remap,LED Tails,ACS Spoiler,'is' Bumper Trim,Rear heated seats,Rear blinds

It's more than likely part 4 as seen here...well if it's a facelft that is....earleir model maybe different. Usually damaged when attempting to get bumper off to replace PDC
IIRC it's screwed to the underside of the wing and the bumper latches onto two bits....that get broken
Cheapish

That's the fella - £19 when last ventured...
Glue it back, 10 x less trouble.

Re: Front bumper hanging off...
Mine is a 2004 face-lift, and I'm guessing I could repair the Part-4 maybe with some epoxy putty & drill/tap into it to re-work the appropriate fastenings some how ?
I'm presuming the plastic inner arch comes off to access this bracket thing /
I have a similar issue with a loose corner on the nearside rear bumper corner - so maybe attack both repairs tomorrow.
------------
Many thanks for the info gents - appreciated - very much.

IIRC its fitted facing down between the wing and the bumper. It's screwed UPWARDS into the wing as the wing has a folded edge
The only true way to get at it is to pull the bumper forward...but it maybe that it's the screws or what's left of the plastic has failed and as such not holding onto the wing.
I think SANJ is suggesting BONDING the plastic clip bit to the wing....providing the clips aint busted?
This image shows the slots on the bumper that clip on the wing fixes through

You may be able to make out off this image the fixing under the indicator part of the wing

Here's the front offside beggar
http://www.drivex5.com/wp-content/uploa ... 550620.jpg
This picture shows it as it would be with the screw hole at the front holding it on with the dowel bits into the wing underside
The bumper pushes into the gap between the upper and lower points being grabbed bobscure tangs....
