Recommended garages to replace all brake lines on my 2001 X5

Post by Beautiful » Wed Sep 16, 2015 7:44 am

Hi at the weekend the rear n/s brake line split apparently common fault where water builds up and corrodes the pipe. Had it fixed yesterday by a local garage but he mentioned that all the lines need replacing as they are all showing signs of severe corrosion. I'm in the East Midlands can anyone recommend a specialist as i don't even want to try a quote from BMW as it will be laughable  :)) Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

How about the local garage that spotted it..??
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

Had mine done at BMW too.

Problem with going to an Indy for brake lines is that they can be lazy - I have seen it where they ran the lines over the top of the dust cover / trays just because it was quicker than taking the covers off. Also, when they make their own lines, you have no guarantee of the quality.
