anyone good with bmw 1.4 software? want to remove susp inact msg from display
anyone good with bmw 1.4 software? want to remove susp inact msg from display
Got the BMW 1.4 scanner software and sorted the drivers, all loads up and appears to be working. my question is do you know or do you know if there is a how to on where to go in the software to remove the suspension innactive message and the 35mph max message?
I have completed the 4 corner conversion, last thing to do is get rid of the annoying message!!
Sorry but I am useless with stuff like this?!

Re: anyone good with bmw 1.4 software? want to remove susp inact msg from display
Hi, followed the instructions but it isnt cancelling the message off the display, now i did a test and cancelled the washer water level off and this work no problems, so the software/interface is working just doesn't seem to want to remove the susp innact message.
Could this be due to 1 of the level sensors being faulty? i suspect 1 of them is and i know they control the headlight aim but am not overly bothered about this. I wouldn't have thought that would stop it from cancelling the message from the check display though?? help as I am at a loss again now!!

Not sure about this but am sure I read somewhere that the self levelling suspension ECU needs to be present and in working order in order to be able to get rid of that message.....Raj is the boffin on this, but I am pretty sure I recall that you cannot get rid of the message unless the ECU is in place still and in working order.

I haven't removed the ecu, it is stlll in place but as for it being in working order, god only knows - been having headaches with the self levelling susp for months, got to the end of my tether with it hence replacing with the coil spring setup. Be my luck to do all this and not be able to remove the bloody message!!
Re: anyone good with bmw 1.4 software? want to remove susp inact msg from display
The member I gave my scanner too came to my house so we could delete his suspension message too.
I seem to think the ignition key needed to be in position one or something like that. But we unchecked the suspension check tick box, but remember the key position was different.
As said RAJ is your man, try PM ing him, as he's more into the 3 series these days, so doesn't visit the forum as often these days.
I ended up giving my scanner away after we reset his X as I had got shut of mine by then.

Yeah I have sent him a pm but hasn't responded as yet, hopefully he does soon before i drive the thing into a lake! might nip up near yours horizon and dump it in elton reservoir lol
Re: anyone good with bmw 1.4 software? want to remove susp inact msg from display
Haha, I'm not too far from Elton Res. I'm in Walshaw, don't get too wound up over your error messages, it will be a simple fix once you have the correct info. I loved my X5 and regret getting rid of it. Stick with it

Re: anyone good with bmw 1.4 software? want to remove susp inact msg from display
Yo all.......
Sorry for absence but been busy with work and fitting an M3 interior to the 3er lol
I have replied to the PM Mark so hopefully that helps.
But as per the PM, yes the control module needs to remain in place (which you have done) so it is then possibly down to the level sensors.
When lowering the X5 if the rear sensors are showing a different height to the fronts then even when coding out the check control message it will override and show up on the dash as it will think there is a fundamental issue. Now this can be due to the levels being different front/rear of the sensors themselves are failing.
On mine to get round this when loading up the rear I have disconnected the small connector arm that goes between the sensor arm and suspension arm and located the sensor arm to where it should be in comparison to the front one. This now means it never shifts and so even when loading up the rear the level is uneven the sensors and system still think it is level and so doesn't throw the error.
The other thing to do is read the errors being stored to see what it's actually throwing up as an issue.
Hope that helps,
Raj.
