Re: Power folding door mirrors
YES...
I have bought 3 different variants/manufacturers of these....
All of them were bloody useless.
The gears were not exactly the same dimensions - and fouled up,
The Aluminium outer case alignment pins were not cast in the correct positions & therefor jammed both the Old & new Gears too.
I've noticed that the most likely/common failure of these mirrors is that... one of the two small guide location pins at the base of the Aluminium housing snap off...
And the copy replacement part will not fit smoothly - after great expense of the purchase..
So - with extreme care & time taken, I drilled the location of the original pin & press fitted a tiny insert replacement....
job done - but took a long afternoon... and much cursing & swearing lol

Re: Power folding door mirrors
I fixed one of my mirrors. All I needed was the gears as the old ones were badly worn. (The outer metal cover did have some damage but mirror now works ok). Fortunately, I also bought a new motor. A good move as I couldn't get the worm gear off the old one. I had to super glue the new one on the shaft of the new motor as it wasn't a tight enough fit to stop the shaft spinning inside. I did have some snags with alignment and one out and one in situation!! Several disassembles and reassembles, swapping the wires round on the motor and some cursing it all ended up working as advertised.
I think I am correct in saying the black plastic part has a spring loaded mechanism inside that allows the mirrors to be folded manually or move if knocked. I saw a post or video somewhere showing a spring compressor being used to swap these internal parts to the new cover. Thankfully I didn't need to replace this.
Quite a few videos (not all good quality!!) out there on you tube etc.
Hope this helps and good luck.

PS I did need to clean/open out the locating hole for the longer gear shaft that goes in the bottom housing. Gentle use of a small screwdriver did the job, no major issue. Total cost about £35 for the parts and a bit more hair loss!!!
