Auto/Semi Auto Gearbox ???

Good Afternoon everyone,
Now please forgive me if the following question sounds Silly, but unfortunately I need to ask it as I don't know the answer and don't want to break my car!

When towing in Auto, when I approach a hill in the distance do I pull over to move gearstick into Semi-auto selection or can I do it whilst driving?

I've only had the car since February and now getting close to going out with the Caravan going up to Scotland.

just throw it across whenever you want to ..... but remember until you flick up or down its in sport mode

Sport mode is what happens when you shift the lever to the left but do nothing manually to intervene with the shifts.  It changes the shift points and holds gear far longer.

On my E53, 'Sport' mode meant 6th gear only selected above 100mph (on a track!).
