Headunit ISO vs RCA

Post by x5e53 » Thu Jun 23, 2016 8:13 am

The new android headunit I have brought has the standard ISO type of connector.
It also has RCA out for all the speakers.

My question is, can i simply use the RCA out? i.e. running RCA cables to my amplifier, then speaker wires from amplifier to the speakers?

The only thing i am unsure about is the CAN BUS module the android unit has. I am assuming this is only for the sterring wheel controls?

Can anyone recommend an audio/ICE installer in the west midlands?
I can strip the car down to save time.

yes you can ...... easy answer ....

but youd have to make sure the peakers are connected to the amp speaker wires not the head unit (car) speaker wires

hope that makes sense

I went for XTRONS PF7553BA Quad Core Android 5.1.
It has a higher resolution screen (1024 x 600) compared to most of similar priced headunits (800 x 480).

So my plan is to take the door cards off, feed speaker wires to each speaker. Long job, but I think it would be for the best.

yes thats the proper way to do it
I've cheated in the past and run my wires to the dashboard and cut the speaker wires to the connector and hooked in there using the cars existing wiring but it's messy and not the best way

I just need to see if there is a way to get the steering wheel controls working. Unsure though.

if your thinking of changing your head unit read up on the Alpine ine~w997d , i got it fitted +amp 4 speakers and sub ,old head unit was killing battery and doesnt connect to Iphone 6 , so now i have satnav , touchscreen  ( not that you need touchscreen ) because you have voice command with SIRI through the Iphone , just ask it what u want  music , tv ,and a paticular song or channel , or call anyone in your phonebook , and the sound is amazingly clear and powerful ,
