still chasing lean running fault codes on my x5 ..
was changing the fuel tank breather valve this evening (funny how those 10 min jobs never are) when i noticed a random black breather pipe clipped to the same mount as the breather valve
it looks like it has broken but i cant see anywhere that it should be connected to
it was getting dark so i couldnt chase the other side of the pipe to see where it had come from but i think this might be the culprit i'm looking for .... any one got any ideas what it goes to
Ive looked through realoem and cant find it
i've also left my phone at work so i couldnt take pics but it curves like a shepherds crook and looks like it should be connected somewhere under the manifold
its made of that delicious black shiny brittle stuff that bmw love to use in places that get hot and i'd guess its at best 6-8mm outside diameter

Re: random pipe
LHS of the engine? Front differential breather?
Re: random pipe
yeah left hand side
clips to a holder just behind the vent valve
if it is the dif breather then i'm assuming it should be open and not connected to anything
