Widest Wheel Spacers on Front

Post by x5e53 » Fri Aug 26, 2016 8:54 am

What is the widest wheel spacers people have used on the front 2 wheels?
I can't decide between 20, 25 or 30mm.

I have 30mm on the back, so 30mm on the front would probably look best, but would it foul anything when turning?

Not sure about the front, but I have 6 month old set of H&R 20mm spacers I used on the rear if you're interested.

Personally, I prefer the rears sticking out a little more than the fronts, so I wouldn't go 30mm on the front too.

What size of wheels are you running ? As I read some one had 4 rear wheels on their E53 285/45/19 that would give you a 30mm extra stance , not sure that the 20" would be the same though !

I have to agree with that, I have 20mm all round and feel that the rears could do with an extra 10mm each. Front is perfect and probably to the max with the 20s.

I'm going to order a pair of 30mm spacers so can sell you my 20mm ones if you like  ;)

Hello again Mr Herd...

to work out the spacers... you need to get some big bastard to sit on the front bumper, thus pushing the vehicle front down & measure how much space you have from the tyre to the arches lol ha ha

Seriously, if you have staggered wheels as opposed to a matching set all round... the advice here is pretty accurate.
20mm at fronts & 30mm Max at rears...
if you got a matching set of 4 wheels... the offset at the front needs to be half the rear.
Trust me, I spun up several sets of spacers to get it right.

due to the staggered set-up effect... 20mm is ideal on the fronts & 30mm at rear.

personwl preference is a matched set or rear wheels n tyres all round with 15/30mm spacers as above... the ride & cornering is amazing & with 2° of negative camber added to the front hubs, ie the tops of the wheels lean in toward the engine... the tyre scrub is totally eliminated on the front tyres.
the vehicle feels very solid & also very nimble too.

but hey, this is only my opinion...
