PCV Parts needed for 4.8is

Post by x5e53 » Tue Aug 30, 2016 11:31 am

Hi,

I have a 4.8is which is smoking slightly on idle. I am told its probably the PCV.
Can someone share with me the part numbers of all the items required (and recommended) to change the PCV on both sides?

Have you looked at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin in the search box and you will see your spec. I would think its under "engine" it should help with diagrams and part numbers
4.6is X5 Estoril Blue (current)
4.4 X5 Sport Topaz Blue LPG (now gone squashed by a tree)
Subaru Outback 3.0 Rn Star Silver (current)
AMG 6.3 CLS Obsidian Black (sold)

Looks like there is a few parts to it, should I replace all of them?

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=FA92-EUR-07-2004-E53-BMW-X5_48is&diagId=11_3258#11127547058

part number 13 is the repair kit (part number 11127547058). One for each side. It's very straight forward to replace too.
