Quick tyre pressure confirmation

Post by Murphybarnes » Fri Nov 04, 2016 11:14 am

I'm running 275/40 R20 on the front and 315/35 R20 on the rear. Thanks.

B pillar, drivers side, there is a sticker with the pressures on it.

From memory I think it was 2.2 bar all round. Thought it was different pressures for staggered wheels.

OK.  I'll  work I through it myself. Set the fronts at 2.2 and the rears at 2.3. I think the rears take 2.7. It was hammering down like stair rods so a quick fix was in order. So glad I did. Fronts sitting at 1.4 bar. Had it less than a week, so be gentle on me.

Somewhere around 2.2 bar sounds right for a normal load car.  Same front and rear on staggered or non-staggered wheel set-up.  I ran mine as 32psi (bar was less common then) and never had any unusual wear or lack of grip.  That's all from memory as my E53 went a while back now  :(

used to run mine at 2.5 front 2.8 rear.
seemed to give the best ride, traction and grip for me, and reduced the wear due to the camber issues

would occasionally raise rear to 3 bar when about to tow the caravan a long way!
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
