Parrot Handsfree Installation

Post by Lyons » Fri Nov 18, 2016 8:26 am

I've given up on the OEM bluetooth for now, and as I have a CK3100 sitting in the garage I thought I may as well install it in the interim to keep me legal.

I've search all Parrot related topics on the forum and cannot find a guide for installing a kit in an X5 with nav.

Can anyone help me?

I believe if you want the parrot fully integrated the radio is in the boot so the ISO adapter lead and parrot unit will be there too. You will then need to have extension leads for the Microphone and the Control screen to get them to the front.
Unless you fit it as a stand alone unit in which case it won't mute the radio when in use.

So it does still use ISO plugs? Any idea what SOT cable is required? Is there a permanent and switched live required or do they get captured within the SOT?

I plan to leave it all in the boot with the exception of the mic.

The radio is buried under the spare wheel and suspension compressor in the boot it has a Quadlock connector (big square plug) with flat pins, the ISO adapter goes between the radio unit and the quadlock connector the Parrot unit will plug into that. Then the control unit and microphone will need locating to the front.

I have the OEM set up working so don't use a parrot in mine, I did put an after market headunit in my 4.4 so had to find a route from the radio connections to the front.
