Just in time

Post by ianst0028 » Thu Mar 09, 2017 11:21 pm

Finally got around to changing all the bushes/arms/links on the back of the X5 today
Also had the rear brake hoses which weren't looking the greatest last time I had a back wheel off
Wasn't until I'd got the drivers side hose off that I found a slightly worrying sign that I hadn't done the hoses a minute too soon
Image

The scary thing is that I don't even think the Eagle eyed mot tester would have seen it

Still all done now

Errrr , .......it's a brake pipe .......you know the one that filled with hydraulic fluid to operate the brakes and stop the car. Except that that one is on the brink of bursting/splitting. No fluid, no brakes. No brakes, no stop.....

Oh I dont think it would be that bad really. Still got front brakes, a touch of handbrake,s shift into manual and down through the gears. Slightly elevated heart rate perhaps. :)

Well if they were screaming more than normal then that means they were screaming anyway, so no real harm done. And them screaming won't stop you any faster :)
