Eonon GA7166

Post by dark_stranger » Wed Apr 05, 2017 1:02 pm

Guys, haven't had any tunes in the car for about 6 months and was planning to get a Dynavin, but the Eonon GA6166 looks good, but at half the price.  Searched on here and a few people chat about the Eonon's, but wanted to get some recent comments.  What are peoples views on these?

Edited: should have been the GA7166 and not GA6166

Hi

I think some on here have had these and the dynavin and some happy with them, some less so, it really depends on budget and what sound quality and features you are after.

For me, I talked to my car audio guy and he recommended a Kewood head unit, a more expensive unit but a quality sound. It was okay to fit and did what it said inc Bluetooth and harming sat nav with postcode you can always check eBay.

I have had different experiences with Eonon, the one in my VW has been in there about 3 years and been excellent, no faults. I put one in the X5 and after about 6 CD's it stopped working/playing CD's, All the talk of warranty and free replacement  just didn't happen, oh yes the CD cassette was free but $45 postage and you had to take the unit apart and fit/solder the new cassette in place. Maybe their customer service is better now. Contact to buy or ask questions was excellent. Contact with a fault was some what drawn out. Luck of the draw maybe. Appreciate this hasn't helped you make a decision, I'm just passing on my experience with Eonon. I sold my unit and fitted a Dynavin.

My e53 came with this one fitted and it works fine for me.
I fitted a similar one in my e46 that works ok but the time is fast.
The one in the x5 the time is set by sat-nav so is always correct.
