E53 Door Mirrors - spare wires...

I fitted some aftermarket door mirror glasses to both mirrors, as the original OEM items were all milky & useless.

The replacement glass had two connector spades poking out - which I presume for heated glass...
but
there was also another connector on the OEM mirror glass... a round plastic thing 40mm long with 2 wires into it that go under the backing plastic.... what do these do ? as there is no provision on the aftermarket replacement part/mirror glass  !!

Any clues please ?

Not sure but could they be for the auto dimming.

As above.  LCD layer to dim the mirror on cars fitted with the option.  VERY expensive to replace if I remember correctly!  Around £300 from BMW.
