Gonna be servicing the transmission in the next week or so folks,but what i need to know is the oil quantity,grade of oil etc on diffs,transfer case and gearbox.cheers :)

Gearbox.....used my Dec 2004 build (2005MY) as a reference...official kit for part numbers etc.

I think 20L must include a flush!  You should change the filter.  There is a label on the box itself with the oil type.  Must be changed warm and with the engine running to ensure the torque converter and hydraulics fill correctly.

There are recommendation on here that you ONLY use the correct ZF fluid, and don't mix it with anything else!

7-litres of ZF Lifeguard 6 is listed as the ZF fluid.

Ok cheers bud.im assuming you fill transmission first then start engine and top up with it running?also does it actually take the 7 litres.last thing,what fluid for diffs and tc,and capacity. :)

There should a procedure here on somewhere, or over in Xoutpost in the US.

kkx5 on here should know the diff oils and quantity.  SAE75-90 diff oil rings a bell.

BMW Synthetic OSP is listed.
