After-market replacement for the parcel shelf on a pre-facelift E53?

Is there such a thing as an after-market replacement for the roller blind parcel shelf/load cover on a pre-facelift 2001 E53? I don't mean just replacement parts, but something with an entirely different mechanism.

Every part of mine is knackered, including the left and right supports, the pinions on the tubes and the toothed strips on either side of the luggage bay that the tubes should run in, so a replacement shelf on its own won't do the trick.

Someone whose opinion I respect thinks that such a thing exists, but I haven't been able to find any trace.

My only thought is to maybe look at fitting the later facelift E53 rear boot panels as the load cover was just a retractable material cover that hooked over the trim on each side of the boot panel trim, nearest the boot opening.

You would need to do research as I'm sure you would need to get the boot side panels or poss just the runners, but you will need the trim pieces just behind the seat that locates the later load cover cassette.

So its prob worth having a look at www.realoem.com website to have a look and see if you can get the parts and poss eBay maybe your friend for parts at reasonable cost.
