Gps aerial

Post by Silverfox58 » Tue Oct 17, 2017 7:00 pm

Hi all  a  fitted  an after market radio with sat nav and Bluetooth a couple  of months  back and fitted the gps aerial  on the
Windscreen  by the mirror and I'm not happy with the reception,  is there a better  place to fit or can you get a booster,
Your thoughts and advice please

I had a windscreen stick on one that came with Dynavin in the X5, sure I ended up moving it to the bottom of the windscreen as it was no good at the top. Think they have something in the glad at the top that cuts out radio waves.
However the aftermarket headunit I had in my golf , came with a magnetic GPS aerial that was recommended you remove the air vents above the radio and stic,k on the underside of the dashboard . Worked faultlessly to my amazement

Hi thanks for the replys, its a stick on one and i have it at the top of the windscreen by the mirror.
I will try and move it to on the dash at the bottom of the windscreen and try that.

In both my car's i have it at the bottom of the screen stuck to the dash but touching the glass.
The cable tuck's away nicely as well down there.

If it is the type I think it is then the aerial is on the opposite side to the sticky pad, so sticking it to glass puts the antenna looking inside where it can’t see much as it needs to look at the sky  :)
