E83 X3 4x4 Warning Light

Afternoon all,

My wife has just come home in her X3 with a number of warning lights on the dash It's a 2008 2.0d.

4x4 Warning Light
Amber Brake Warning.
Airbag Warning Light

Any ideas?

No need to move it to e83 section. All 4x4 bmw's share same system. 2008, n47 engine. Xdrive problem will throw airbag light as well as 4x4. Start with simple: get some faulty codes. Could be abs/steernig sensor, worst  case scenario: Transfer Box.

Thanks guys.

Started the car this morning, warning lights still on. Had a play with the steering wheel position, read this can sometimes help moving it backwards and forwards, up and down repeatedly. Sadly not. Disconnected the battery and left it for an hour whilst making the ammeter mistake of shutting the boot! Anyway, reconnected, started car, lights still on. But as soon as I was 50 metres up the road they started going off one at time, bonus! Will still get the codes read as I suspect it's only a matter of time before they come back on!

Mine first came on last August and went out after turning the ignition off then back on again.
It wasn't until December that they came back on and wouldn't go out .
