Code reader buying help

Post by Bigb » Fri Mar 23, 2018 4:00 pm

Hi there, I want to buy a code reader that is plug and play with the BMW, something that would be compatible with all my cars (non BMW too) would be good. Something that does engine diagnostics and transmission etc too. I am clueless at this sort of stuff and I don't have a pc either as I hate them haha. I have a 2005 x5 and I'm looking at roxwell ones that only seem to read engine faults? This wouldn't include transmission faults if I'm right so no good. Thanks in advance

I'm sure you mean Foxwell, I have one of them does all makes of cars, does transmissions, can read live data ie g/b temperatures input/output speeds solenoid voltage/actuation, individual wheel speed sensors etc etc. Used it on  many cars which had already been read and not shown faults but did on mine. I have been very pleased with it but it doesn't code. Very expensive. That along with INPA which can code (problem is I can't) so some learning to do. INPA is really cheap but you need a computer. I'm hoping that when I've moved house and settled in I can do some learning.

I have the NT644 PRO Lifetime updates. I'm well impressed. Not just saying that to justify why I spent £400. If it was crap I'd say.

That's a bit pricey for what I need to dabble in, I'm sure it's totally worth it if you are using it to its full ability, I'm looking at products around £100 and I'm seeing the c110, very cheap and seems great reading the reviews. Thanks again

Have a look on Amazon, I went for the C310, although it is BMW only, well pleased and a great price.
Now £47.89 at Amazon

look it up on Amazon, will list what it can do, also there is a Q & A section.
