What do people think of this item. Have you ever wondered if the splines are worn??

Morning Henry
I have seen the shafts with an extended spline that looks as though it would be as effective. I did get to inspect mine when the engine was out in bits and it showed no signs of wear or tear then. Mind that was 60k ago ? Still no funny noises are issues when off road when getting wheel slip so I guess things are still OK

Current "to do" is the steering double joint is making noises

I’ve seen those extended splines, these seemed simpler as no welding involved. Problem is the internet can make you worry about problems your never going to have. In reality mine has a very easy life. I might drop it off in the summer when I’m having my yearly grovel about underneath. Did you grease the splines or just push it back in.

Should have said I had the steering noise a couple of years ago. I put the front in the air and sprayed chain lub on it while someone else spun the steering. Wiped off the excess. Haven’t heard a thing since.

Unfortunately the joint is loose so it's got to be changed soon

When the front prop went back it was greased just in case it ever had to come off in the future
