Surely if any of the Chinese made cars are sold in Europe then they have to pass the stringent safety regulations imposed. After all BMW/VW/MERCS are quite happy to have a great number of their spare parts made in China and labelled as such and at the usual astronomical prices. They seem to be quite happy to increase their profit at the expense of the German worker. Maybe in a few years the "Made in Germany" won’t carry as much weight. Speaking for myself I always feel a sense of disappointment when paying top dollar for a part from BMW/VW that is labelled "made in china".
