Hi
Is there a CD Changer that I can just swap over from the original one that is already installed in the car?
Keep getting "NO DISC" showing up. Can this be done by a diy fix.

CD CHANGER
I'm sure someone with superior knowledge will be along with details, but as far as I know, yes there are options available to you as a direct replacement albeit with a suitable cable to connect up, I think Sony are one manufacturer.
If you search on here even, I'm sure I've seen someone reference one.

Re: CD CHANGER
Any changer from an E39, E46, E53, E83 or E85 will fit. So will changers from the R50, R52 and R53 Mini and some from Rover 75's and Range Rovers (make sure they have the 3 and 6 pin connectors and not the 10/12 pin version).
The only thing to watch out for is that if you have the older DSP system that uses the digital coaxial audio cable, don;t buy one of the most recent MP3 capable changers as they don't have the digital audio output - although you can still connect them up using an Analogue to Digital converter.
Finally, have you considered connecting up something other than a CD Changer, iPod for example.

Thanks guys
Looks like i'm going via the ebay route.
As for the above comment; I've got my ipod connected to the Parrot MKi9200 which does a great job.
Thanks

Re: CD CHANGER
I had the same problem after the car was in the dealership for a new transfer box (ouch!) It had been sitting for while and I got the NO DISC message. The dealer wanted £££££'s to have a loo so I had a look myself.
The CD changer comes out of the rack easily enough and likewise comes apart easily. Small cross-head screwdriver and patience needed (don't loose the little screws inside!) The connectors are small and delicate so just be careful. The arm that slides the CD's back and forth was stuck halfway (ish) so the unit thought there were no discs.
A gentle clean with some alcohol on a q-tip followed by the tiniest drop of silicone spray (spray into can cap and use q-tip to apply) re-assemble and mine works like new. Worth running a few disc changes to make sure everything gets lubed. Save ££££££'s Just wish I could have done the transfer box and output shaft, shouldn't have failed after only 60K but it did!
Hope this helps.
