Pics of my new Kalahari X5 PIC HEAVY

Post by Kalahari X5 » Sun Jul 31, 2011 10:22 pm

Thought I would share my new purchase, although it is not a new car.

Late 2005 4.4 V8 with 36k on the clock and one owner from new. Purchased from BMWs used approved website last week.

Very unusual colour which I don't think is captured properly in the photos (sorry for the iPhone shots) It is Kalahari Beige with Cream Nappa Leather. Quite a few of the options ticked from factory (almost £15k worth! If my sums and 'options' list sticky is anything to go by)

Absolutely love it and with baby number 2 on the way this Xmas just right for the missus to use as her new daily driver.

Hope you like the pics. I do have a quick question for those users in the 'know'. The photo of the rear centre console has 'TV' written on a button. What does this do? There are no rear TVs in the console/head rests. Confused...

Lovely car and I think you can see the beauty of it in the pics. I like the cream interior.

BTW the TV button just changes TV
channels from the back.

Very nice. I love the colour and as you say it's unusual. I looked at 'Olivine' when I ordered mine and I don't remember 'Kalahari Beige' as an option.

The cost of the toys very quickly adds up. I think my shopping list was close to that figure by the time I'd finished. I know the car new was about £53k in 2005, and that was for a 3.0d!! The V8 was about £10k more :?

Lovely car - don't know why but seem to think I've seen these pics before. Not posted before under a different name have you?

TV button is standard with Comms pack and you will only be able to change the TV channel, scrolling upwards each press of the button. Nothing to do with rear screens.

Mods will be thick and fast if that way inclined.

Thanks for your comments all.

Never posted here before but thought I would share the joy as these sorts of forums can be very handy for tips (think xoutpost is running a brilliant hints n tips post for the X5)

You may have also seen it on Pistonheads?
