right ok,thanks for that, with it being intermittent I may try swapping the rears over and wait for the fault to reappear,if the speedo plays up it will indicate the passenger side rear being faulty.I will have a look tomorrow if this rain goes off...thanks for the help mate

swapped the rear sensors today, gave them a good clean, just need to see if the fault occurs again and if it does is the speedo effected,if it is its the passenger side faulty,if it isnt both rears should be ok,will then check out the front

If you know anyone or have acces to a code reader it will tell you which sensor is at fault(if it is a sensor)The fronts are the same...not sure on the backs though because of the spedo.
Good luck :)

right, the lights have come on again a couple of times, obtained a bmw specific reader that can talk to the bmw modules ie abs airbags etc which gave me a "steering angle identification" fault and there was also a fault with the "rear right side ride height"I did notice a micro switch on either side of the rear suspension when I was cleaning the abs sensors,I take it these are the ride height switches?I have read that the steering angle sensor if faulty will give the warning lights I am getting and if it needs replacing its needs programming to the car,is this main dealer only?

Any thoughts or suggestions from members who have experience of this would be appreciated,
thanks

had the codes read at indie bm garage, and it is coming up as a throttle body problem, which would explain why the engine light has come on a couple of times, the steering angle and ride height problems have not reappeared, throttle body will be getting replaced next week
