E53 LED Tailgate interior bulbs

I seem to have sorted parastitic current drain issues since I had a new aux fan fitted.

Despite this I often leave back tailgate open when messing with car &/or loading/unloading watersport gear.

Considering LED option for less battery drain but do NOT want to

a) Cut/modify existing lamp housings.
b) Fit aftermarket husings incoroprating LED's.
c) Pay silly money.

1. Can those who have fitted without modifying housings please comment on likely suitability or otherwise of items in ebay lisiting viewable via this clicky

I believe the above are called "194 Flank" bulbs which according to a trusted owner/forum member on another board is the correct type......trouble is sizes & types in LED type can vary.

2. Can anyone who has fitted different bulbs without modifying housings please post an online link to same or similar ?

Main reason is to avoid a flat battery........not intending to do the whole interior at this time.

Been doing a lot more kayaking recently so boot often when looading/unloading kit.

Anyway thanks for not making it personal......I mean you know how sensitive I am

Perhaps if I borrowed your Joe90 specials then I might be better able to focus on my loading & unloading & thus decrease my tailgate interior illumination time

Thanks. I did consider straight swap out plug & play but most were IRO £20 delivered. I have sourced some, (led flank 194), similar to those I linked to for under £5 a pair delivered...........I will post up re their suitability once I have recieved & fitted same.

Bulbs arrived today as per link in my opening post at start of thread.

All good and slot in without any contact to housing or metal cover..........good quality & nice white light too.

I now have peace of mind re lack of battery drain when tailgate left open....If having doors open too I can set default of interior lights to off, (by holding front dome button 10 secs or whatever it says as in the manual).
