Bluetooth doing my head in.............

Post by SimplyRed » Sun Nov 13, 2011 12:45 am

Just bought the car.... Has full Comms pack.....

BMW-GB says that my car was specced with Bluetooth from new.
The guy that sold me the car said it has Bluetooth although he has never worked it.
I also have the silver box in the boot to indicate I have it.

I JUST CANT GET IT TO WORK AND ITS DRIVING ME MAD.

Everyone (including the owners manual) says I should press a button just above the storage compartment. Where is this button? I dont see any buttons. The only button in or around the armrest is the Bluetooth Logo button which just ejects the tray and nothing else.

People talk of a button that looks like the profile of a human face etc. Yes I have one of those buttons but its on the steering wheel and I have tried using that one for the pairing procedure and no joy at all.

Can anyone shed any light...?

I have posted some pics to be sure I have the buttons I am supposed to or just put me out of my misery and tell me I have bought a car without bluetooth.

All help greatly appreciated.

If you weren't such a dirtymonkey I'd kiss you!!!!

I got outta bed at 1.40am ie. Right now to try your advice.

And it works!!!!

The manual shows a button of a face. Doesn't say that is the eject button that doubles up.

Anyway. I am eternally greatful. I have tested it by ringing my friends and family to tell them the good news.

You see the "face" button on that location if you had a phone cradle :)

Uses the external aerial, so better reception.
