Does non OEM NAVI DVD burn out MK4 DVD player?

I heard non oem navi DVDs burn out the motor in the DVD player. Anyone had any experience of this?

I think most people use copies with no problems, would Not worry about it. I'm still need to upgrade to Mk4 DVD just don't know if it's really worth, everything is getting pretty dated in the x5 now.

OP not the case, been using them for 4 years now, no issue whatsoever... This is not something that happens to hardware (your DVD drive) because of burnt discs. Otherwise they would never have been made available.
