Well I've just dropped the X off at the garage to have a new gearbox and TC fitted... Hopefuly all will be well upon her return. I've been given a vauxhall astra as a loan car and I can tell you this much, you dont realise how good the X is until you drive something normal.

And you can't see over the traffic ahead either.....

Hope all goes well. Mine was much better when it came back almost two years ago after a box & TC change - mind you it couldn't have been any worse as the original box had self destructed.

Well the x is back after having a new box and TC fitted.. Only driven it about 20 miles but she feels silllllky smooth. Well done to those boys at midland transmissions :thumbsup:

how much was it out of interest, so we can get an idea of what dirrerent people are charging for this expensive service

Hi,
I paid £2000 which was a recon box and new TC, which took them a day and a bit to fit. Before getting it done I went over to speak to the MD and to look around thier shop. It was very clear they new what they were doing ( they do approx 5 of these boxes a week!!!). You can get it done for around £1100 but not too sure what you get for that.....As I intend to keep the truck for another couple of years I wanted piece of mind and a good solid warrenty should I ever need it, plus they were local.
