Changing keyfob battery

Post by kkodal78 » Sun Dec 11, 2011 10:30 pm

when i purchased my X5 it came with two keys both remote but one of them was not working as remote. after getting back from my long vacation in afghanistan i decided to get another keyfob to make sure i have two working remotes and i would keep the nonworking remote for spare to spare :) . about a month ago my old working remote stopped working as well and after a little bit of research i found out that the rechargable batteries can be replaced with a little bit of soldering. now that i have two nonworking remotes i took the liberty to order two panasonic VL2020 batteries which comes with instructions how to replace them. the place i bought them from online sent me an e mail including a youtube video on how to replace them. once it gets here i will give it a try and see if i can manage to change them which i don't think should be a problem and if i get the ok from the mods here as well as the place who sold it to me i can post the link for the youtube video as well as his instructions on how to do it. oh by the way the third keyfob cost me 95 quid from the stealership. the panasonic batteries are 6+ quid each..so hopefully it will turnout good :)
