Sadly it may snap next time :-( but on a lighter note mine did the same last year and worked again after thawing!

In case and hoping you don't need this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=22&t=417&start=30#p4835

Plus do the heater mod and get the car warm before you go out. Helps the engine and the interior and hopefully the door handles too. Plus don't force them at all, if in double pour water over them. And wait...

Again, as above. Pretty common. I also had the same last winter. Door wouldn't fully shut (frozen lock mechanism).

Didn't force the mechanism or use any catalyst to defrost, just let it warm naturally with heaters on and car running. Made me late a couple of times!

Solved in the end by garaging!

If you haven't got any water you could try pisssing on it, some members might find this more difficult ;)

 And some neighbours would pay good money for that ;) and anyway as you're so hot you shouldn't have to resort to that :)

Mine did this last week, had to push the lock nob down. Went 13 miles like this, when I got to work it was fine. But this will prob happen again when the frost returns.

I have also put a lube around the door seals, as these also stick to the door.

Same happened to me last year but only ever once though. The dealers advice was just to pour luke warm water over the door to thaw it out before opening it.

Of all the Beemers I've owned this is the first one that has this sort of issue.

Happens quite a bit on Xes when the weather gets really cold - if you use a lot of foce and start slamming doors etc you are definitely going to break the mechanism Shadrack......

Luke warm water works well and doesn't make the snow go yellow......
