Auto Socks

Post by Denis O » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:58 am

After last Decembers trip through the Alps with mucho snow, although the X performed admirably I did think that I would get some auto socks for the trip this year.

However, it appears that the standard 19" rears are not catered for. I mention rears as the handbook suggests that if you use chains they should be fitted to the rear wheels so I assume the same for socks.

Has anyone else found this and did you manage to overcome it.

Auto Socks

Post by ITBarbie » Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:13 pm

Hi

I have auto socks from RoofBox and think they are great. I have standard sport 19's and managed to get the right size for the rears but not able to get them for the front. I called the company and ordered over the phone when I checked out the fact that would fit.

Give them a call for advice :-)

Thanks Penny. I'll give that a try. Do you have a product code that I can quote. Might make the process less painful.

Just had a look at the RoofBox site and when searching for 285 45 19 it says that Autosocks do not make this size for the moment.

You need what I bought at the time, the Spikes Spider.

Just praying that the ones I have and never used fit on the E70 as they were a bl**dy fortune.

Actually RoofBox were very helpful when I called them and although their product finder says "no product made", when I called they confirmed code 697 will fit.

But you have a tractor, so you don't need them........put a yellow beacon on the roll bar and you're sorted
