new vehicle to join in our fleet

Post by kkodal78 » Wed Feb 22, 2012 10:45 am

i am heading to slough on friday to pick up my wife's new ride which is a 55 reg VW Touran with pretty much loaded with heated leather seats, satnav and dvd entertaintment system in the back. it has the 7 seat option with parki g sensors all around. it is black with gray interior. it has around 68000 miles on it and the person i am buying from is the first owner of the vehicle. it is the diesel engine version so the gas mileage should around 45 mpg combined. looking forward to get it in friday.

Sounds like an ideal family car. I may be looking 4 something similar soon. If u don't mind me asking, what is the ballpark cost to buy? Do they have any major faults to check b4 buying?

new vehicle to join in our fleet

Post by kkodal78 » Wed Feb 22, 2012 10:50 pm

the price was £6200 to begin but i asked them abut the cambelt which they haven done so they took off 300 for that. so they wanted £5900 then i asked them about a second key which they have lost it so there goes another 200 and at the end i will get it for £5600 after haggling for discount for soon to expire road tax. i think i did well.
sanj- you were in my mind to be honest but i will be there around 9am and have get back to the base for a meeting before 1 pm. i wanted to see jason as well but i dont think i will have the time. ive been sending him messages but he hasnt returned yet. tomorrow ill know exactly when i will be able to leave on friday morning abd will pm you. hopefully we can arrange a meeting to have a cup of coffee or tea.

they seem to have an ABS issue but ill have a WD and AA warranty on it so i am not worried. first thing i am planning on doing is get the cambelt done and gearbox oil. than hopefully ill get a hold of jason to see what he can do on a remap. and the windows needing to be tinted for protection for the kids that will be done and of course a second key which might be another question to jason.

Touran is a great car, my boss's wife has a 2.0TDI 140 with the DSG box, and its probably one of the smoothest things ive ever driven.....pretty nippy when it needs to be and pretty good with fuel, ideal daily driver!

If time permits, get car and call me. Home is probably 5 mins away and you can pop in for the tea/coffee.
