Just been looking through their website. Very interesting. A full correction detail would cost that price anyway, so if for thd same price they do a fu correction and then apply their miracle compound and provide you with a cleaning kit then it actually isnt that bad at all.

Am surprised no-one in this country has either started doing this. Also would be very interested to know what the protective coating actually is a d I'm guessing it's some super strength stuff to resist swirling again.

There may be a supplier, but they may be referring to is as something else. Lots of discussion in 2008/9 but nothing recently that I can find. Like you, I'm surprised no one is supplying it unless they don't operate on the web, or don't admit to that being what they use, OR there is an equivalent already available and they can't break in, or the UK market just isn't big enough given the wealth of other products out there, thus making it too expensive :scratchhead:

I've got the Autoglym Lifeshine product on mine (came with the car) though how it compares I can't say. I have had to have a complete repolish due to the original paint clear coat being defective and then the protection re-applied. What nano-molecular material is used I cannot say. I only use HD wax as a protector now and it doesn't need doing very often considering the car is outside.

I think as raj says for the price this treatment seems good value when you pay that for a detail. And with this you get both. Just can't believe it's not being done here that we know about. It would definitely reduce the aches

At a guess it would involve polishing out any minor blemishes. BMW did something similar on my X6 last year to remove all of the defects in the clear-coat. The car had a bonnet respray but also the entire car was re polished to remove the marks where the clear-coat was flaking leaving tiny matte marks all over the place.

The guys who did it said that certain colours are more prone to it as more colour coat is needed to fully cover and hide the primer coat and if the humidity is wrong on the day there can be issues. Vermilion Red is apparently one of those colours. There's a Champagne Beige colour that suffers from the same issue on occasions. Because the colour coat is water based and the drying processes are 'expedited' before the ceramic clear-coat is applied, water vapour can form tiny bubbles below the clear-coat and blister it off.

It took them a couple of days to do, but they did a really good job. Then it was re coated with Auto-Glym Lifeshine - or the BMW equivalent which could be the same stuff. It smells the same anyway.

Polishing out the swirl marks and minor surface scratches to give a proper clearcoat finish. See my thread in the other marques forum where I detailed my friends M3.
