sounds a good idea with the 2 yr warranty on them. I've not bought any but You didn't post a link for anyone to see?
Oh yes looking at your other thread have you got you bumpers back on your car?

That is the same ones I bought the 6000k gives just enough bluefish tint in my opinion the kit is really good and as it says no errors. I ended up cutting my old bulb holders as the ones I bought were in a word Crap !

Re: hids-direct
Strictly going by the book, the only 'Legal' colour for ECE Approved HID bulbs is 4,300K. 6,000K is unlikely to attract much attention as the difference is not that great, just slightly bluer and slightly dimmer (the brightest to human eyes is 4,100K), but the differences are marginal. It's not until you go much over 6,800K that the blue becomes much more apparent.
You can get 12,000K which are almost purple and noticeably dimmer for the same power consumption (again to human eyes). They'd probably be of more use as a tanning lamp at that extreme end of the range.....

same install as me...on the wing
someone else managed to fasten theirs to the strut tower near to the wing
I managed to loose one tiny screw that held the bracket to the ballast
now held on with a tie wrap until I come across a simliar screw without spending wads in b&q
ps...my 35w kit 4,300 came from hids direct
the clip for the bulb although free was like tinfoil

Re: hids-direct
Ive always used HIDS4U.co.uk. Have fitted them to both the bike and the van. Have the 55w promax kit.
I think i tried hidsdirect but when they came through the balast needed a direct connection to the battery which was very difficult as they are under the drivers seat and i didnt want to have to run more wires through the bulkhead.
On the plus side they did refund the money no problem at all

Re: hids-direct
well at 330 the hid kit turned up, not bad service considering i only ordered it at 1 yesterday, it is just total plug and play so far so good, next when i get the car back and its in bit is to hide all wiring balasts ets so you cant see them for that oem zenon look

Re: hids-direct
Aaaah just took ma facelift lights out and they just have a plug on back for all of the lights on a multiplug, can I just splice my hid feed into the cables that feed the existing headlight bulbs and hide all the wiring in and around the lights? Thanks

Why?
The HID Bulbs have there own cables that's meant to plug into the ballast.
The 12v feed to the ballast is knicked out of the original lamp feed
So you could power the input to the ballast by splicing in earlier, but what it seems you're trying to do is use the original cables through the multiplug to give a clean input into the lamp unit?
Can the original cables take the HID startup power?
Seems like a lot of plug sniping and splicing
What if you want to take the HIDs out?
What if your MOT station takes umbridge?
Seems a lot of faff when all that's required is a hole drilled in the back of the bulb cover...but hey...whatever

I've hung my Ballast on the wings....perhaps I could hide it better

Re: hids-direct
Yeh is the picture above a facelift light? The kit would just plug straight into the bulb connector on a pre facelift, that is on the ballast, I will just tap them in mot station not a problem as I have projector lights so will hide it, so I will just tap into the feed from before the bulb, and nothing is hassle to me and my mods just another day in the office for me!
