Refurbished wheels

Post by tombs » Fri Jun 01, 2012 5:41 pm

Had the wheels on the X5 refurbished today, decided on graphite finish with a slight gold fleck, what do you think?

Probably my age, butim not entirely sure....sorry :(

I recently had my 997 wheel refurbed and was going to go for a hint of grey, but just couldn't pull the trigger and went with standard silver (they still look good though ;) )

I guess at my age I'm on the conservative side of life ;)

Apologies in advance. :(

Never been a fan of black alloys, weirdly enough unless they have the pinstripe running on the edge of the rim (or something to highlight that edge). We spend a fortune getting bigger alloys but hide that size by painting them black, thus blending in. That's why I like the pinstripe, highlights the separation between alloy and rubber.

But good on you for doing what you want. Rather than play safe!

Thanks chaps, the picture taken does seem to make them look more black and hasn't really shown them up right, they are greyer in the flesh. I kept looking at Shadrack's wheels for sale but couldn't really afford them at this time but need the wheels sorting out and had a chance meet ing with a wheel restorer who did a deal for me. We'll see how it goes...
