PROG message on bc

Post by fenj66 » Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:12 pm

as title really, i came to start my car the other day at work and when i turned key to position 2 just before actually starting, the dashboard bonged and showed the message "PROG". car started and drove fine, i cancelled the message by pressing the bc button on the stalk back to show the clock.
its not happened again since but ive never seen or heard of that before.
has anybody any ideas? :scratchhead:

The only messages I know of with 'PROG' in them are either 'ENGINE FAILSAFE' or 'TRANS FAILSAFE'.

If you press and hold the bc button on the stalk PROG will come up to allow you to add or remove bc functions from the cluster display, sounds like this is what happened.
