Odd Satnav / DIsplay Issues

Yesterday a really strange thing happened while I was driving - the satnav got "stuck" initially and I could not get the other options like radio, menu etc to display- the display just showed the satnav map which was not reacting to anything.  Switched ignition off removed key, restarted, same problem.  Then suddenly, the screen displayed a blue background with a white menu bar at the bottom, and a yellow MENU lettering, rest of the letters were white. The Gps Option had disappeared from the screen, but the other options were still there, and when selecting say radio, the screen it brought up for selecting stations was not one I had ever seen before. I received a phone call as well and had a very large phone icon appear on the screen with wave signs moving above the receiver, like a phone ringing.

Arrived home, switched off, left car overnight and returned switched on the morning as usual - everything back to normal. No blue screens with different displays and phone icons etc, just the usual bog standard stuff and the satnav is back to normal too.

Very odd. Pixies in the head unit?  Gremlins?    A take over attempt by some mad pixel?

Remove the plugs to the SatNav and that's what you'll get again.

Think the MK4 unit had a moment!

Its fine now, just wondering where the mysterious blue menu came from though, its an improvement on the usual one! But thats vanished again, the usual menu is back, normal service resumed.
