Might be easier if you let us know what you are thinking of claiming for.

Thx for the replies, I was just a bit puzzled about the rules as I had new anti roll bars disallowed and a split cv gaiter covered which seems illogical

Do you mean the ARB  bushes or the ARB's themselves, and was the cv gaitor done for the mot, if so it sounds about right under the "wear and tear" clause, and the mot cover.
If not then please tell us more.

AUC warranty terms and conditions

Whats the mileage on your car? As what is classed as wear and tear is mileage dependant.

AUC warranty terms and conditions

I thought the cutoff was 60k- thats when wear and tear plays a part. I would think that the ARB links failing prior to then would be classed as a manufacturing defect.

Maybe call your dealer and ask them to clarify- hopefully others here can also help?

AUC warranty terms and conditions

Post by 4687ah » Mon Sep 17, 2012 8:48 pm

Hi there, I recently had a cv joint done after it failed, the dealer had to check with BMW HQ due to the "high mileage" of the car. This kind of annoyed me as it was on 67k, so I then pointed out that it was on 65k when I bought it, and was told that as its a continuously moving part then it's standard practice to check with BMW with the higher mileage. Anyway this and the wing mirror where approved so all was well.
It's booked in next week for a new compressor for the self levelling rear suspension, a new starter motor and also a new multi disc changer in the boot, again all under warranty.
So far, for me, (fingers crossed) the AUC warranty has saved me a lot of money, not to mention heartache. I really hope I don't find out its limitations.
