E70 (winter)wheels on an E53 ?

Post by sapphireblack » Sun Nov 25, 2012 10:54 am

Wheel centre bores and ET's have never really been my thing, so i need a little help please.

I've been offered a near new set (4K miles only) of Type 211 E70 wheels with run-flat winter tyres. Their ET is 48 which is OK for the front of mine, running ET45 Type 87's. The rears on mine though are ET 30, so quite different and i 'm not sure if E70 wheel bores are smaller or bigger than the E53's wheels?

Anyone with the knowledge i lack is welcome to chime in and let me know, please  :)

E70 centre bores are bigger, so you'll need some spigot rings. Some spacers on the back will help appearance (I use 30mm with the winter wheels) but not essential. The OEM E53 17 winters have an offset of 43ish all around.

Centre bore for E70 is 74.1 and centre bore for E53 is 72.6 so you'll need spigot rings for sure to fit them. As for offsets, you'll be fine but may want to do what Mike has and get some spacers to bring them out some.

Thank you both for the info' but my interest was apparently based on a misunderstanding regarding the sale price, so it's academic after all.
