Too good to be true !?

Post by Smeeagain » Wed Nov 28, 2012 9:40 pm

So I'm poking around on ebay looking for new front wiper blades for the X5 (2004 3.0d Sport) and I find these - £5.69 the pair including free postage .......

Surely not ?

I think that tight arse Jig bought some of these and until I removed a small part of his OEM wiper, this didn't work well.

Now he thinks they're brilliant until next week, no doubt.  ::)

Bought some on special introductory offer from Asda a while back for the 1 series @ £3 each. They work well as long a there's enough water to displace off the surface.

Otherwise they chatter!!! I HATE THAT!!! >:(

I just bought the Bosch ones for mine from ECP with their MM31 discount code bringing it down to £17.01

Absolutely superb.

I have tried the E70 and E71 and a number of other OE full aero wiper conversions on my E53 but none fit properly (too long in total length with the arm and blade), hence just the Bosch upgraded ones.

Hi do I know which ones are the correct Bosch front and rear blades for 2004 3.0 D Sport E53 please - there seem to be lots on there - could you post the part numbers you ordered?
Thanks

Its the upgrade ones:

Part No.: 485778210 21" Aero Blade Left Side
Part No.: 485778240 24" Aero Blade Right Side

I have the OE E70 rear aero wipre arm and blade so didn't need the rear one, although just checking I can't see one anyway).

Ah ok

Hmm I have a dilemma now as I could do with replacing the rear one - as it happens there is someone on Ebay selling new Bosch set of 3 for £30

Shall have a ponder - many thanks for taking the time to post the detail

I have a related question - my drivers side wiper arm I can pull back from the car no probs and turn the blade around for cleaning but the passenger side one strikes the bonnet when I try to pull it back - am I doing somethings really obviously stupid ?

Nope you're not. It does sit behind the bonnet. You have to turn them on and when the wiper is vertical in the middle of the windscreen turn the ignition off so it stays there. Only way to do it as far as I can see.

Looks fine apart from the passenger one was 21" not 22". Rear is 18" so fine at that one.

I'm running an E70 rear aero wiper and it was straight bolt on. Will post a pic.
