E53 Heating

Post by dobbor1 » Wed Dec 12, 2012 4:54 pm

Can someone explain please if the X5 has some sort of clever heating system I don't know about? I read that I have ability it to switch on and off via a timer but unsure what this is all about. Am I getting confused with another thread regarding a remote or something? Also what is the Wabesto thingy??

Not sure why, but it was an option on petrols I believe but you'll find the wiring is there under the bonnet.

Takes longer to warm a diesel up, so the AUX is there to warm the block up.

So other than having to carry out a switching mod. It doesn't really do anything special? What is the timer set option then on the computer display?
