Deary me, I spend a couple of days away from my topic, and its all gone awry. It has become a very 'open' topic though, but that's my own fault for digressing I suppose!

Yes Osram Xenarc Silverstar, D2S HID replacements due on Monday. Hopefully Grandpy Santa will test them when he delivers the Grandkids presents on Monday night! More to follow . . . . .

The post by Peter ref build quality is also relevant too. 'Sauced up' or not Peter thanks for your reply, I am going to go spoof a local dealer and take a modern X5 out for a wee demonstration, and see for myself if build quality is better or worse, only way to answer my own question really. Though I still think the X3 I've just had for a week was not a patch on my E53 for build quality.

I have been playing. A cable came in the post and a CD was enclosed with it. The CD has some "demonstration" software on it, it's taken me a couple of days to figure out the installation of said "demonstration" software, but I'm pleased to report that at about 1.45am on 22/12/2012 communications was established. Interrogation has been performed, and 'ze german told me everysink' What fun I have been having . . . . .

Finally a huge 'Thanks' to Raj, I'm now the proud owner of some titanium grilles, (they fit on the bonnet near the windscreen), that match my radiator grilles, it's all happening here. Pix to follow when it stops persistantly precipitating!
