As title, what fuel do you put in and why?

Re: supermarket fuel or branded?
BP or Shell as it is better quality fuel than Tesco, and other supermarkets. That is a fact. Only way supermarket chains can sell fuel a few pence cheaper as they have the main supermarket to subsidise the forecourt. Plus when you’re stood in the queue have a look at the price of a Mars bar; it will be considerably dearer than in the supermarket.
Re: supermarket fuel or branded?
Supermarket fuel. It's all made to the same British Standard, and comes from the same refineries into the same multi-million litre storage tanks used by whoever ships fuel to your local forecourt in their tanker fleet.
If there is any difference (apart from the GTL fuels) it's only because the forecourt use additional additives, or the tanker driver puts something in at delivery.
The differences are slight in most cases and IMHO not a justification for the extra charges some brands apply. Some of the claimed differences are not much more than snake oil.

Always used V Power be it petrol or diesel
I found the improvment in economy pretty much paid off for the increase in price + the loyality scheme ramped up quicker (double points using V power) which meant I got money back quicker

All comes from the same place and any differences only come from the additives added at point of sale or tanker drivers. These differences are minimal as X5 Sports says.

Re: supermarket fuel or branded?
In the 2 months I've had my v8 I've tried a few different brands but for me they have all been the same so I go for the cheapest usually a supermarket! My van has done 100k on supermarket fuel and has been fine.

Re: supermarket fuel or branded?
tesco for me, i'd have a 5p off voucher in hand on the lucky day.. a full tank is a lot of points and that pays dividends.
plus wasn't there a comparison sometime back by 5th gear or top gear? there was no noticeable difference in performance worth the price difference.. from memory ..

Yes mate 5th did it and V power made more horse powers, but only on cars that had an ECU that was cleaver enough to notice the fuel or that could advance timing.
