Led interior kit

Post by blofeld » Fri Jan 11, 2013 10:56 am

Anyone have any experience with these kits?

Seem to do 2 packs that will do the whole interior.

Not the cheapest but seems an easy way to do it

Slightly less money than buying two of those packs but I bought this kit from eBay USA.

They are so bright its unreal. They are very good quality LEDs and they dim down too when locking/unlocking etc.

Sanj and Imy have seen them at the meet so can probably vouch for me too.

The kit is designed for the X5 so you get every bulb for the car inc the glove box, Visors, Boot etc.

Only took a week to turn up too.

Definitely recommend  :)

Watch it you!  :))

I spent ages looking for LED kits and make sure you go for the SMD chip LED's as they are much brighter.

So my LEDs arrived and have been fitted. There weren't enough festoon ones for the vanity mirror lights-not too much of a problem but I have some odd looking ones left over. Anyone know what they are for?

Maybe something to do with the fact that I have a pan roof and they go in the rear dome light ?

I didn't actually get them in the kit I got. Mine were all Festoon type bulbs except 6x  T10 type bulbs.

4 of which where for the map lights and they looked similar to these:

And 2 which were for the boot but they looked like this

If you got it from the same seller I did he is very helpful and should send you the correct ones Free of charge.

If you cant return them you could use them in the boot lights and maybe fix them with double sided pads etc.

Thanks
James

Thanks James

Yep same seller.

Got all the T10s and the boot ones so I am fully up and running just short of 2 festoons for the vanity.....

Will drop him a pm.

They are very nice though. Great colour and dim as the originals did.

Really makes a difference to the look on unlocking-brings the car forward a year or 2

I broke one of mine and the seller (Jack) I think his name was sent me a replacement free of charge.

Yeah I agree glad you like them!

Good luck.

I also ordered this kit.  I got two different length festoon types. 6 of the longer one and 5 of the
shorter. Yet all the ones I need seem to be the shorter type?

This is what I received (although my shorter festoons are 3 LED rather than 6).

On the right of the pic are 4 x map light, 2 x tailgate light.  The map light ones don't fit through the hole in the reflectors for the dome lights so I am assuming the 18 LED adhesive flat panels must go in there, but I can't see how to do it without it loooking a mess.

Correct the 18 LED adhesive ones do go in the main dome lights. I kinda used the double sided sticky adhesive and it seemed to stay there. At first I thought it would look terrible but once the lights back together and in the ceiling it doesn't look to bad.

thanks
