Dim nav screen

Post by murf62 » Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:50 pm

My nav screen is very dark.  It's fine at night but during the daytime it's almost impossible to see.  Is there anything simplem it's likely to be?  I've had it out & cleaned the ribbon cables and it made no difference.

Daft question but i presume you have checked the brightness settings in the Config Menu?

Maybe an issue with the backlight on the LCD.

Not a daft question, as I am daft!  I did look through the settings but couldn't find one for brightness.  Maybe I missed it?  Or is there a hidden menu?

I've noticed it doesnt alter when lights are switched on/off so I guess it's stuck in night time mode.

I thought there was a brightness setting under the 'Set' Menu option, but if not then see if this helps.....I know it's for an E39 not an E53, but it's the same basic system.  Not having had mine in over a year now I don't have a handbook to check it in.. :'(

Thanks for the link, mine is a different s/w version (3) to that example but it allowed me to whack the contrast up full and it seems a lot better, will have a look tomorrow when it's a bit brighter outside.

Cheers!
