Injectors?

Post by garethdeb » Sat Mar 09, 2013 10:35 am

Hi folks
My 3.0d sport is struggling a little at idle and even stalls when cold sometimes. I've been told one or more of the injectors may be on their way out so my questions are, is there any way to test which one and then how awkward a job is it to change them? If its major heart surgery then I'll start saving up and get the garage to do it.
Cheers all
Regards
Gareth

That's an expensive " maybe " some garages just guess, and when you spend a fortune changing stuff and it doesn't cure it, they will say try something else. I'd get the codes read first to see what comes up.
If you suspect the injectors, I would first try running a bottle of cleaner through a tank of fuel first, or many places have a machine that pumps cleaner through the fuel rail and injectors which is supposed to be good. Bosch service centres can probably run a test and clean. I know Audis were prone to injector problems, but not so much BM's
